I'm trying to finish up a jewelry box and I'd like to glue some felt to the feet so it doesn't scratch the furniture. Any reccomendations for what might be the best glue to use. I want to make sure the felt stays soft...

CA? Yellow glue? Epoxy?
Thanks

I would use double sided sticky tape as it won't soak into the felt which is the problem with any wet glue.

I have used 3m number 75 it seems to work well and does not get hard.

The times I've done it I used a little dab of silicone. Stays soft and doesn't bleed through.

3M Spray Adhesive. It's basically rubber cement in a spray can. So, if you'd prefer, rubber cement would work nicely.

Joe I just go over to my local hardware store and buy them. They have quite a selection of different sizes and shapes. Just have to peel them off the backing and stick them on. And they are cheap.

I'll second the 3M spray adhesive, just make sure you mask well.

Also does wonders on loose headliners and doesn't bleed through.

I've used just regular old Elmers white glue. Let the glue get tacky then install the felt. Cheap and easy.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have some spray adhesive and I think I'll give that a try.

The 3M spray adhesive works great. But I would suggest not using "generic" felt. Look for "billiard cloth" which is like felt on steroids. It's much more durable, easier to glue down and much "finer" than the standard fabric store fare.

I use 3m 77 and works fine. I use standard felt and there is no problems. Here is an example of what I use it for.

I have used 3m adhesive spray to attach felt into my wife's jewelry box. It has worked ok but it was very messy. Make sure you wear gloves, mask off the areas like others have mentioned...the 3m adhesive spray is very sticky stuff. If I were to do it again I would just buy the adhesive backed felt.

If you are going to get felt I do agree with David. Get some good quality felt as it will make a difference both with the feel and when you attach it down.

Yeah - 3M

Allways got a can on hand.

Its one of those things that once you use it its a staple in the workshop, kinda like WD40 and gumout carb cleaner.

Thanks again for the info guys. I had some 3M #90 spray adhesive in the shop and used that last night. It was indeed a mess, but cleaned up easy and worked great. It really is good stuff to have around!
