I am in the process of tearing down an old shed here on "the farm". I have been saving the lumber for future projects. What I am really wonder is, what to do with the beautiful weathered gray, chalky red (15%) cedar siding!!! It is of random lengths and 6" wide. Hey, I even found an original label on the backside - Seattle Cedar Lumber Manufacturing Co., Maltese Cross Brand. I know there are outlets for this "stuff" in the metro areas and were I closer I could probably sell it. But~I'm thinking of using it in the shop (some of it)! What would you folks recommend??? Also how should I go about "preserving" it? I was thinking of paint thinner / BLO through a gun. I would greatly value ANY input and also promise to post a pic in the future upon application.

I'm guessing you could sell some of it right here if you want to part with it. It sounds beautiful!

The late Eric Sloane (http://www.ericsloane.com/) often framed his magnificent oils (http://members.fortunecity.com/john_deere/Tools/Paintings.html) in weathered barnboard. Was a perfect fit.
