Gosh I really enjoy box making. It's the one thing that sells well at my local "artsy" store! Wood is from a Cherry bowl blank cut off. The log measued 38" in diameter so this is just a splinter from that thing! Measures 4"X4 3/4", finished with mineral oil and buffed...Bill...

Can you get a closeup of that bottom detail work your doing?

I like this piece a lot. The finial is much more functional then most I've seen and very pleasing to the eye. Good form and finish.

That is a great looking box Bill. I too would like to see that bottom edge in a close up shot if possible.

William - I can see why these are such big sellers! Very nice work! Good looking form, soft finish and some nice detail work! Glad you are having fun with them!

Box bottom detail: this is about as close as I can get with my crop and zoom. 2 burned lines as a border on a raisede bead and figure 8's engraved with a dremel

Bill great box. Well done. I love doing boxes to especially with fancy finials.

A very nice box Bill. I too like turning boxes and hope to get back to them soon.
