After much discussion with current wide belt & drum sander owners in addition to a little research. I believe Woodmaster probably manufactures one of the best on the market.
So, I went ot their site and low and behold they are having a unheard of promotional sale.

I think you will like it very much, I did. Just sold mine last year because I'm no longer doing production work and need some extra cash. It is very quite, with no vibration. The dust pick-up is EXCELLENT!

You will like the woodmaster drum sander. I have the 36" and evertime I use it, I am pleased with it !

Do not buy the mobile base they offer. It is a cheap off shore product. I had to get out my welder and build up the wheel supports to so the wheels could turn. I should have built the mobile base myself. Those sanders are very heavy and will need a heavy steel mobile base.
