Hello All, I am somewhat new to wood working but have stumbled on a market where custom cabinets and like products are in demand. Due to my budget I am getting my tool arsenal together and came across someone selling a Delta 30 070 jointer and 12 1/2 delta 22 -260 planer for $160. I am told they have limited use from the owner(hobbiesest) that seems like a good price but i know these are older units...All the reviews on line seem to be ok on the planer but very mixed on the jointer.

I am always on sawmill reading and I am sure you guys have some experience with these and would be knowable on price/value. any/all opinions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks, P

If both machines work properly, it's a start for you. You won't be able to do a lot of production work with that jointer but you can do some small jobs and "get your feet wet", so to speak. For $160 bucks for both of them, if they both work well, that's a good deal. Take some boards with you to see how the machines work.
