How much does it cost to lease a laser sytsem? I am in no rush, but I would love to lease or buy a used system to do part time work on the side. I am looking a reliable company and the system would need to be 12x24 and around 30 watts.

Depends on the price and length of lease, and interest rates.4 years on $15,000 is about $500/month. Then you may have to pay a flat amount or percentage at the end to keep it, not as much as a car.

Ok thanks, just putting some feelers out there. I have only used ULS engravers and I want to be open to other systems. It is hard when you have only used one though!

Yeah I decided against the lease. Its easier to get a business credit card with 0 percent interest for 15 months.

Now at least all my payment is going twards the laser.

Matt,

You may want to contact Sue 866-452-7377 they may have some used equipment or a rental program. Also talk to them regarding the skipping issue. The software is current. I am talking with the engineers to see if they have heard anything regarding this issue. It is not a common issue because we have not seen it on any of our systems here. We might ask for a file if it is common to any particular files so we can try and reproduce it at the factory.

Thanks Mike, is that Sue Stull? If so I emailed her about used equipment.

Yea that is who it is she had worked out a rental program once. I do not know if she is still doing this but this might be an answer to your question.

Matt,

If I were you, I'd call all your local laser distributors since most of us take equipment on trade for new equipment. We almost always have a used laser (or 2 ... or 3 ...) in our warehouses.

Two other excellent resources for used lasers:

and www.usedlasers.com (http://www.usedlasers.com)
