Hi All,
So Over the weekend I got a Leigh Super 24 and acc kit. Went together real well, not bad to set up at all. Looked at the D4R and the new PC Omnijig, Went with the super 24 cause it seemed to me to be the best value. I don't do all that many DT's so... Ayways

The Question, I would really like to do the inlaid dovetails on a project. Is this something that can be done with this jig? How do most people do them? Any tips?

Travis,

The Leigh Customer Support page does not show a procedure specific to the 24-inch Super Jig. However, they do have a procedure for the Super Jig/D1600, From their web site, "Super Jig/D1600 - Inlaid Through Dovetails On The D1600 Dovetail Jig (http://www.leighjigs.com/data/D1600-inlayTD.pdf) ( 2.2 Mb ) This bulletin explains how to use the one-piece fingers and work piece movement on the D1600 to create Inlaid Through Dovetails. Date: May 18 2006". I wonder if you could adapt this procedure to work with the 24-inch model.

You might call Leigh's Customer Support to discuss this. They have terrific product support, and will ultimately be the ones to develop any procedures you and I use. The key with the Super Jigs is that they have one-piece fingers, but the D1600 procedure shows how to precisely move the fingers to get the inlay thickness.

I have never used the Super Jigs, so I cannot attest to the procedure. I have created a video series showing how to use the Leigh D4 to make inlaid through dovetails. You can find the version with Parts 1 & 2 merged at my blog (http://sandal-woodsblog.com/index.php?s=inlaid+dovetail), and at FineWoodworking.com's GlueTube video blog (http://blogs.taunton.com/n/blogs/blog.aspx?nav=main&webtag=gluetube&entry=45).
