Just playing, nothing serious

This is a letter opener I made for SWMBO from some apricot given to me by a friend. The small log was severly cracked, so the biggest thing I could make was this letter opener. Very hard wood, but nice cutting. Finished in Danish oil. Will be getting a coat of poly soon.

Nice looking handle Brian! I've only turned Apricot once - a gift from my neighbor Bob - and it was some of the hardest stuff I've ever seen! Ended up turning the outside into a very rough globe, drilled a hole in the top and called it a Weed Pot!
