Ambrosia Maple Pedestal Bowl

This piece is from some free maple that I got from a firewood dealer named Chief. I wanted to do something completely different than a regular bowl, so I took one, chopped a few pieces off of it, and put it on a pedestal. Here's the result.

I like that! That's an interesting concept. With just a little carving you could make it appear to be wrapped. It's always good to see someone trying something new and off the wall.

That's really different Don! My first reaction was "YIKES" but after looking at the photo a little - I have to admit that it looks pretty cool! Great concept and I do like the smooth curve of the rim. Very nice work!
