Have not posted in a while.
This is the last project of the year.
Yard work will take over now.

I should have had a shot of the doors open.
There are a couple half drawers and a shelf.
Made it for my grandson who had a birthday last week.

Thanks for looking.

Jim, I'm curious, is it open behind the doors or is there a shelf?

Very Nice! How did you secure the side panels in the second photo? Do they fit into a grove? Are they one piece?

Looks great Jim - I am sure it will make a great family heirloom!! This helps to push me closer to a project I had been planning to do in cherry...:D

Reed - Inside the doors are two side by side small drawers and a shelf on top of them.
Mike - I would take a pic of the inside except it's already been delivered.
John - The side panels and the panels in the doors are inset. They consist of several pieces using tongue and groove with a "V" route between each board.
In the back I just used ply.

Thanks to everyone for the kind remarks.

That piece is the very definition of an "heirloom"
Good Job!

Hi Jim,

Haven't you heard that letting your lawn "go native" is all the rage? Plant wildflowers, no mowing allowed, 'cause you're busy regenerating the atmosphere! More time for woodworking, earth wins, you win!

Nice work! If I were to try something like that, there'd be no time for yardwork as it would be barely half-completed about now.

Very Beautiful. Where did you get the plans from or did you make them up yourself? What did you use for a finish?

Very nice looking.. clean lines and you did an excellent job of mating the grain.

Well done...

BTW.. concrete the lawn and paint it green. Saves time... :D

Sarge..

Real nice Jim, made a chest of drawers look much more interesting with the doors but still functional - good stuff. Would like to see inside but guess the little fellas making good use of it by now.

Cheers.

Excellent work. I like the design and selection of wood for the surfaces that show. I'm sure it will be well liked. Once it gets some time, it should age darken quite nicely.
