View Full Version : Adjust Rollers on Makita 2012NB

Hi all,

A while back I bought a used 2012NB planer. Unfortunately I did not use it today. The planing itself is great, but there is a problem and I did not see a way to resolve it in the manual.

One side of the infeed roller seems to be lower then the left. So when I feed a piece on that side it binds up. Feeding it on the other side works fine. Planing seems fine on either side once I can get it going.

Anyone know how to do this... of know instructions somewhere?

Thanks

Jordan

I re-read my post and since there were no replies decided to clarify.

The left side roller pulls the wood in no problem. The right side seems to hang lower, which grabs the wood and then stops. If I give a good push it gets pulled in and starts going. I don't think it is the roller slipping because it really takes a good shove (and I can't pull it out).

Any help adjusting the rollers (or at least a generic *what to look for*) would be much appreciated. Can they be adjusted to even the two sides out?

Thanks

I have the same problem with jamming on the left side when planing to minimum thickness. Did you ever resolve this problem? My planer was purchased used and is in great shape, but it is irritating to keep having to shut it off to periodically pull the stock back out of the unit.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide,
