I am looking for a replacement part for my conover lathe. The part I need is the bottom handle for the banjo. I just purchased this lathe and it came with a cast iron wheel like what is on the tail stock. Any info on this would be greatly appeciated.

I'm not trying to be smart, but you might try contacting Ernie Conover. While he no longer makes these lathes, he might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Conover Workshops website has a contact option, give it a try.

My Conover came the same way. At the time I purchased mine they were still in production and I contacted the fellow who purchased the lathe operation from Ernie to get one. I suspect Ernie will have an answer for you. If you can't find one I'll bet one could be easily fabricated. It's just an eccentric with a standard thread through it. It is really much handier than the original wheel.
Contact Ernie, he's a great guy and I'm sure you'll find him helpful.
