I got this from veneersupplies.com the same place I got my vac press. Nice stuff. It'll need a little flattening but that shouldn't be a problem. It's Elm Burl. About 28 sq ft. Thanks Joe.

It's still at the bottom of the pile at Woodworkers. Here's a little tease of the wood though. This is some smaller 4/4 that I am building another humidor with. I normally would wait and show the end piece but here ya go. I don't think too many people will find this before I'm done.:D

Bill, how did you make the bases rounded edges? Is it mitered sticks, then rounded? Looks like one piece :-)

Gorgeous work...

Thanks, it's mitered on my Incra Miter 1000-se. Then I round the corners and rout the shape. The miters also have Dominos in the corners. I'll take pics of the lid and how it comes together.

Bill,
Yup, I'd call that a tease.
Those double DT's tell me you've got that Incra mastered.

Thumbs up.

Awesome looking Burl veneer and as usual, your flatwork (and your turnings) are amazing. Nice work.

Bill, great application for the double dovetails... the mix of woods and the round corners really bring out the beauty of the joint....

Thanks Will. I'm almost done with this one. Maby even tonight. When i vacuumed the veneer to the lid it cracked the veneer. The bandaid I made came out beautiful though. I think you all are really going to like this one.
