Hey folks, do any of you know anything about a '74 Rockwell cabinet saw ? A fella around here is selling one and I don't know squat about 'em.

Didn't Rockwell get absorbed by Delta ?

Thanx ; Elliott

It may be either a Unisaw or a 12/14.

Yes Rockwell and Delta have merged at some point.

Whichever saw model it is, its good as long as it hasn't been abused.

Actually Delta Machines started in 1919. In 1945 Rockwell purchased the Delta machine company. It went under several names such as Rockwell/Delta, Delta division of Rockwell and finally just Rockwell. In 1981 Pentair purchased the Delta company from Rockwell and the named went back to the origional Delta Machine name. In 2005 Black and Decker purchased Delta and Porter Cable (also once under the Rockwell name) from Pentair. By the way this is my first post or reply. I tend to ramble a bit.

"... I tend to ramble a bit..."

No worries. I really don't see how anyone could describe the history of "Rockwell/Delta/et al" without rambling.....
