View Full Version : LED Lighting Stand For acrylic Signs

Hi all am new to the Sawmill and new to Laser Engraving all together. I am woking on some signs for a friend of mine that owns a Bar. I am doing them in Acrylic and I am in need of some LED Stand Like the one found at http://www.vtk.com.hk/baibiandenxiang.html. I would like to by in the U.S.. If any on know of a site that has them for sale or even kits that would help a lot. Thanks.

I just ordered some from http://www.vytekdirect.com/ct_CGlighting.htm. I have not seen them yet just got in a few to trial.

I sell LED light strips in 6"
also designed a base that you can cut with a laser.
let me know if I can help
led's are red, white, blue, green, orange, yellow
since I manufacture these we can also get different colors
on the same strip

I ordered on-line Monday Night and they called Tuesday to confirm my address as I am in Canada and shipped Tuesday afternoon. I don't know when they will arrive but I will keep you posted on how they are (service/quality) so far very happy, but its early days yet.

I sure hope I can answer all the questions
the strips are 5/16 inch wide and 6 inch long.
they are powered by a wall wart that puts out 9 volt DC
this plugs into the strip so the strip can be changed to a different
color if so desired.
At the current time the 6 inch length is all that is available.

I may the the photo thing right soon.
The wood base I cut from 1/4 inch plywood
I can provide the CDR file if anyone wants.
then I cover the base with a wood vaneer ( sp )
that way they can have any color the want and its easier
to engrave .

I just use clear Acrylic that I picked up at a local Plastic shop.

I have made several using the lights from Vibelights. They are inexpensive and come in many sizes and colors.

Sorry to say that does not include the wood base.
constructing the base takes a couple of hours.
And then you have to apply a finish of some sort
I usually use a clear gloss polyeurthane.
and watching that dry is like watching glue dry :D
can send you the plans if that would help.
