Table suggestions

I would like to build these tables but cannot decide how to make the stems. Any suggestions?

Three ideas:

1) Bandsaw/jigsaw them to that shape.
2) Wet bend them to that shape using a press jig
3) Make the stems out of three pieces of wood joined end-to end with dowels, Dominoes, etc.

The photos looks like it was scanned from a book or magazine. What method does the original source suggest?

The photo was scanned from a book so the method is unknown.
Making them from sections is what I am thinking also.
