Laminated bowl idea please comment

I recently had an idea to get rid of some wood chips. Is there a way to make your own "plywood" like just combine a bunch of shavings and glue mix it and let set. the idea is since beams are exspensive to get unless you can get an end, it you take different color shavings or take them all together then dye bunches of them to make different colors and combine the colored shavings. Any thoughts? You could get some neat colors but it would be hard as rock.

You might try a small sample with epoxy or polyester resin, but the resin is going to get expensive for anything very large.

what about that stuff that they use to make poured 1/4-1/2in tabletop finishes with?

That's epoxy resin. I helped a friend put a couple layers on a ledge around his LARGE in-wall aquarium. Looked great, and made cleaning up saltwater spills easy, but man was it messy and smelly!!!!
