Made this and some other stuff in my easter holiday... Did complete cleanup of my woodstorage and workshop..

Specs: Elm 18,5 Cm diameter height 5,5 cm bottom diam 16 cm. wall thikness 5mm.
Finish powersand to 600 DO 2 coats, EEE Carnuba.

i must say im pretty pleased with the result (bowl nr 10 i ever made)
i relay like the lines in the wood esp. on the last pic where they flow from one side to the other...

The stuff was turned 100% dry and is ROCK hard lots of grinding to get it done..

Very Very Nice!!!

I really like the flowing grain.

I've not turned a lot of different types of wood, but of the ones I have turned, Elm is my favourite so far.

cheers eh?

Rasmus - you did a really nice job on a very difficult style of bowl! Beautiful wood, color and finish! Very nice work!

That looks like the red elm I have been turning lately and if it is the same thing, I 100% agree with the hardness. This stuff is brutal!

Great job on some beautiful wood.

Rasmus, that's a little different form than the traditional wooden bowl. It looks good and the wood is very nice. Your finish really brings out the best in that wood too.
