I just bought the Ridgid TS3660 and have a 30" Biese system (36-B30) from Lowes but I am looking to upgrade to the 52" guide set (rails & tube). My question is if I install the 30" now (I want to make sawdust and ruin perfectly good wood) will the first set of holes on the 52" rails match the ones on the 30" rails (both are 12" rip to the left of the blade) or will I have to drill new holes for the 52" rails?

Thanks

Orlando

You really should give the stock RIDGID fence a try. I have the same tablesaw (TS3650 back when it came in 2 boxes instead of one--same saw) and bought the same Biesemeyer fence at Lowes like you did.

I opted to leave the Biesemeyer in the box until I buy a cabinet saw in a few years. The RIDGID's stock fence is just too damned good to bother switching it.

I agree. I've got the Ridgid TS2400, which uses the same fence. It was the main reason I choise this saw over the Bosch 4100.

Orlando,

I agree with Jason and Jeremy. I have a TS 3650 and the fence system is easy to use and very very accurate.

You know, I hate to buck the trend here................so I won't! I also recently bought a 3660, and I LOVE that fence. Use that fence for a while and be the judge yourself. Then you can either put it on, or take it back and buy some blades....and some maroon paint;)

I would not replace the fence on my 3650 if somebody gave me a Biesemeyer. That would just be a waste of time. The original fence does exactly what it is supposed to. It moves easily and stays parallel to the blade. It is easy to adjust precisely. It stays where you put it when locked down. It is straight within 0.003" end to end. I could see going to the 52" rails if you need the capacity but I never rip anything that wide. Those rails would just get in my way.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I guess I'll try the stock fence and if I don't like I can always put on the Biesemeyer and slide it to the right, like others have, to get some additional rip capacity.

Here's to making sawdust.:)

A very ancient thread - but - I'm thinking about doing the same thing & I wonder if anyone has replaced their stock fence?
