Well, I bit the bullet and added the shims to the rear trunnion of my Delta contractor.
The heeling at 45° is virtually gone now (it was almost 1/16"!) but my 90° setting is out about .002-.004 (I don't have a dial indicator, just estimating). I'm using a Starrett combo to check miter to blade parallelism and using the same tooth, I get very light rubbing on the front of the blade and a little more stiff on the back (sorry, thats the best explanation I have!). After much loosening and tightening, this is as close as I have gotten....
Should I keep trying?
