Hello,
Well as they say:
Spring as sprung,
Fall has fell,
I'm looking at the "shop",
And it looks like ,,,

My unique approach to wood storage aka "the floor" :D - is the first part being tackled.
I spent most of Saturday afternoon clearing out a spot for a rack and putting in the end post for it.
I lagged a 4x6 to the wall and mounted three gate hinges on it.
That will act as the end of the rack.
I plan to make the rack one that will swing away from the wall so I can have access to the space behind it for the "all purpose" station.
These are all the "before" I could bear to take ;) of the whole mess.

"Mess", I don' see no stinkin' mess. That's a sorting, grain matching system.;)
My storage system in the winter is on the bench tops, table saw, planer, any flat surface.I move it to the floor in the spring.:D

Truth be told. I made a bunch of L-brackets a few years back to get the wood up off the floor and machines and out of the way. It's worked out pretty well for me.

You have a nice space to work in there Rich, I like it.

Hey Rich...you can actually see some floor and you think it's a mess? There have been times when mine was worse.

I'm confused whether to call this spring "cleaning" or spring "shopping", err...

Keep us posted on all the little steps of your transformation! :D

Rich - looks like a nice usable shop. For my personal workstyle, I would need quite a bit more light. Anxious to see the steps along the way as well.
