Since I have quite a few small cracks in some bowls I was drying, I am tired of milking the little 2oz bottles of CA. Anyone know of a supplier of 4-8oz bottles? I googled around and found a few hobby shops that have 8 oz bottles for ~26.00 Is this pretty much going rate?

TIA

After much searching we found this site www.vinceswoodnwonders.com

He sells 16oz. thin CA for around $26.00/bottle. A lot less expensive than any other place we were able to find.

I buy that same bottle and put it in smaller bottles for glue that you can buy at hobby stores. Works well.

Thanks for all the help. I am going to order some of the 8oz bottles from the supergluebiz store. That oughta keep me glued to something for a while.

Just call me Troy Wooden Hands...

Kind of off topic but what is the shelf life of CA?

Is there a way to know it is bad?

Does freezing affect it?

Thanks.

A friend of mine is an adhesives distributor, so I get a great price on my glue :D

But for the rest of the world, I recommend him, Roger Harvey, at http://www.rudolphbros.com/. He has many varieties, sizes, and thicknesses available.

I'll confirm with Roger on this stuff.

As I recall it thickens as it ages. But it takes a long time to get too thick to use. I finally threw one out after 2 years of use. The stuff in the bottom was great to use on large cracks, but I had to spoon it in. Had I not opened it, it would still have thickened slightly, but not nearly as much.

Some people swear by storing it in the freezer. The enemy of CA is not cold, it is humidity. Low temp = Low humidity.
