Amazon is discounting Hitachi stuff this weekend. Although I can't afford it. I did notice that they are selling the big Hitachi bandsaw / resaw for almost $900 less than others on line. And includes free shipping!!! $2,275.02 (includes 3" carbide blade too)! Woodworkers I think have it for like $3,150 plus shipping. If you were ever interested in it. Nows the time!

iirc, some of the reviews said the motor was way underpowered making it bog down a lot more than you'd expect from a machine that size. I guess you could always swap out the motor for a 5 horse.

2275 is not much less than 4 other vendors I just pulled up from $2400 to $2600. The amazon reviews really hit this saw for being underpowered, 15A motor 120 V, < 2 HP.

As for the Hitachi sale, keep an eye out. I bought the 12" SCMS a few weeks ago for $490 and it is $569 now.
