Heres a Media Console I just finished. Its Santos Mahogany slab top (original piece was 23 x108) , 8/4 legs and custom made handles. The door panels and draw faces are western curly maple and the frame work on unit is eastern maple as well as ply. It was stained to match the western and then sprayed lacquer.

Its about 19 deep by 40 tall by 58 long. It wasnt very difficult and it looks very custom. Out of the ordinary for sure. I think I may have liked the handles store bought but its what the client wanted.

Thanks for the kudos,
I saw legs similiar but it had a floating top on a pic in a woodworking mag of a vanity. They were supposed to be set back say 4 inches so they werent on corners, but the client wanted the arch on the bottom so the easiest way to hide the side of the arch was to bring legs forward to corner. The legs in mag on the top where they sat proud of side were also dadoed in for extra support.
The angle and how proud they stood was up to me as was the design. She knew she wanted two doors etc..She had never had something custom built.
I liked it with handles off. I think some really thin handles would look nice. Maybe slightly curved. She agrees as well. Thye have JB Weld on two of thehandles. Hence the earlier post.
That stuff is heat resistant to 600 degrees!

Would it be too much if I ask if you could take a nice picture showing the top. I would really like to see that nice mahogany.

Thanks.

Heres pic of top.

I think first pic was mineral spirits on it. Second was the actual finish with a few coats of lacquer. Third pic is the original board in its full length.

Inspiratiomal work.
What is this Santos mohogany you speak of. I love mohog and and use it when possible and have heard this term on occasion but never really questiones the meaning.

Beautiful Craig.. one of the best looking designs I have seen to be compatible with modern electronic equipment. The legs and wood grain stand out especially.
