Looks pretty good Chris! Really nice piece of wood! Interesting texture treatment on the foot! Nice work!

Looks good to me. And you got some really nice wood there. I like the texture thing too, what'd ya use to get that result?

Because my jumbo jaws aren't large enough to hold this platter I had to find another way to take off the foot. I chose to try my dremel tool with a round headed bit. Just started at the center and tried to rout "wiggly" spokes outward, leaving the rough design you see. It worked fine and the platter sits level. Thanks for the comments, I always like seeing your work.

Thanks Chris and thanks for the info. I am going to have to try that. I have a dremel tool with the flex shaft so that should make it easy.

Yep, I did use my flex shaft on the Dremel.

The finish is just friction polish and spray lacquer.
