Good Day to the Creek,
I stumbled upon a curious new dovetail system which uses a hollow chisel mortiser and trapezoid shaped chisels. It is certainly a novel approach, or
at least it is new to me. The Dovetail Master website offers both high and low resolution video of the process. Random spacing, 4 different sizes and
looks pretty quick and easy in the demo. I imagine only through DT's are possible. While I cannot vouch that the system works well, I will give full
marks for novelty...
(just when you thought all the gadgets must already be invented!)

The usual disclaimer: I have no relationship with this product, just a passing curiousity.
I would bet dollars to donuts that odd chisel gets mighty hot!
(that tired expression made much more sense when donuts were cheaper)
Anyone able to offer any feedback on this system?
take it easy,
Walt
:)

Interesting concept, but I don't know that it would be any quicker than using a jig and router. You could also notice that the edge of the chisel caused a good bit of tearout when exiting the bottom side of the board, making for a rough looking joint. I'm sure that a good backer board and a good hone on that chisel could help, but still, I think I'll stick to the tried and true methods of a jig or cutting by hand.
