I'm in the planning stages of my TV console build and need some ideas concerning DVD storage. I intend to have a large drawer to store my DVDs, but I need a way keep the rows that aren't completely filled from falling over. I initially considered using these: http://http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?Offerings_ID=27, but they won't work with the box sets we have.

I'm thinking I need to install some sort of movable stop like they have in many filing cabinets.

Anyone know of something like that for storing DVDs?

Keith

IKEA has these:

It's basically just a grey rubber mat that has grooves in it. You drop it in the bottom of the drawer and stick the DVDs in the grooves, and you could easily trim it to fit your drawers exactly. The nice thing about these is that you don't have to install any screws to mount them, so if you want to use the drawers for something else later, you just take the mats out.

EDIT: For DVD box sets you could probably trim off one or more of the raised dividers to accommodate the wider packaging.

I made my own according to a Wood mag plan for media storage. I don't know if you can make it out in the link.

Basically, just put holes (like shelf pin) along bottom of shelf and make dividers with dowels on the bottom to stick in holes.

Thanks to everyone for their input!

Oddly enough, I just got home and checked my e-mail and found this: http://www.woodmagazine.com/wood/story.jsp?storyid=/templatedata/wood/story/data/1205514194506.xml

I think a modified version of that may be the solution I've been looking for!
