Does anybody know a good sharpening shop in the Phila area? I'm looking to sharpen a 10 inch combination saw blade and a resaw king bandsaw blade.
Thanks,
Dave

(215) 538-9066I had them sharpen a Freud 10" carbide blade and a couple beater carbide router bits just to see how they did. They seemed fine. I don't know if they could sharpen the bandsaw blade but it might be worth a call. They're within a couple miles of the Northeast extension & PA 663

Call a couple of cabinet shops or other professional woodworking businesses and ask them where they take their blades for resharpening. The good sharpening shops do mostly professional shop work.

Thanks guys,
Dave - now that you mention it - I'll bet Al Turner over at PFW probably knows about a good sharpening service.

Dave,
I've used Standard Grinding in Reading, PA for over 20 years. Someone mentioned asking a cabinet maker, that's what I am. I've shipped blades, knives and bits to them, Al sharpens them perfectly and sends them back. Extremely professional and very good work. His address is 216 Lancaster Ave, Reading PA 19611 and the phone number is 610-374-1406. Give them a try, you won't be dissapointed.

Dave, I don't know about the band saw blade, but I use Forrest for my TS blades. They will sharpen any brand. New Jersey and I just mail them in. In fact, I have one waiting to go out tomorrow.

Most sharpening shops have reciprocal agreements with other shops. Shop A specializes in router bits and sends band saws to shop B for example.
Find a good shop and they will take care of it.
