Amazon has the Freud 3.25hp plunge for 132? Why so cheap? Anyone have any experience with this tool?

This is the ft2200 model

I have one those mounted in a table and really like it. This is actually my second as I had an FT2000 for several years. It's a good tool especially for that price.

Can it be adjusted from above the table?

In a way, you just answered your own question. Freud has a new model, the FT3000. It adjusts from above the table, and I believe it also allows bit changed above the table. The older FT2200 requires either mods or storebought goodies like the Router raizer or a Woodpeck lift for above the table adjustment.

There was a bargain alert on them a while back but I think they have stabilized for now, around the bargain price.

I have one that I've had for over 10 years, the FT2000, it's mounted under my router table and I installed a "Router Raizer" in it to make it adjustable from topside as trying to turn that adjustment knob upside down while practically standing on your head, is most difficult..It becomes a breeze with the "Raizer"!
It came with a nice edge guide and a plate to mount the Dove Tail guide collar and the new Red and Black FT2200 doesn't come with either..
The lack of those 2 accessories is one reason it's cheaper!
My new FT2200 is awaiting installation of a "Raizer" also,,will be much easier to turn it up or down with the Speed Handle that comes with the "Router Raizer kit".

There are no above table features to speak of and it has a small throat opening, but is otherwise a very stout router at a bargain price.

I have a FT2200... bought at a similar price. It's very nice... I mostly use it under a table. My understanding is they had a ton of that model left over in a warehouse at the time they were rolling out the replacement - FT3000. Seems like everybody has the 2200 for cheap. Buy em while you can. :)
