First I must say I'm sorry, these were not made on a lathe, but they are boxes for pens that I did make on the lathe.:o

Made out of walnut with magnetic latches. Tung oil and Beall Buffed.

very nice looking boxes, i love the magnet inserts, they a very functional and also add a nice detail to the box. The softened edges look great as well, the buff really adds to a glassy look. Nice work

I broke down and bought a Carve Write machine. It routed out the groves, shaped the tops, and drilled the holes.
I just had to plug up the holes on the top that were in the wrong place and re-drill the holes.
Sanded and Beall buffed. The magnets for the top were glued in with CA.
I feel like I cheated on them by using the machine, but I would much rather be turning than doing flat work, but sometimes you gotta.
