No, in spite of the subject it is not a festool bash post.

I have had my CT 22e "dust extractor" for quite a while. Love it. Today I noticed that it has an additional port on the side near the bottom.

I downloaded the manual and it simply labels it as "2.7" nothing else.

My question is, is this just simply another port? There is a levered gate inside that appears to activate/deactivate something when the hose is plugged in.

unless I hear otherwise I will assume it has not more functionality than the main port. Just seems to be an odd location.

Cavin,

It's more of an exhaust port. If say you were working in an area with high VOC's, you can place a hose in that port to exhaust those fumes elsewhere.

I was wondering what that port was for too! Thanks Bob

You can also use it (with the right adaptors) to blow up kids toys, air matresses, water toys, ect... instead of huffing and puffing.
