I had some of this extremely expensive wood laying around as cutoffs from another project, so I glued them together and made this (a miniature?) The dime's there for scale (duh), it's about 1 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" wide. I used a really tiny skew chisel made out of a nail (somebody here gave me that tip and I can't remember who, but thank you) and it worked great.

Expensive dyed B/E burl, sanded to 600, EEE, and Minwax Wipe on Poly, buffed.

They're all buckeye burl, just dyed different colors, except for the base, which is oak.
