Jason and all,

I'm going to be building some speakers soon out of baltic birch. My wife's suggestion is to paint them. Any recommendations as to paint to use and so on? I would probably be brushing, though she has an old and never used sprayer (not HVLP) attachment for our compressor.

Ed, if there is any chance that you will sit anything at all on the speakers or if they are going to sit on a shelf sans rubber feet, etc., be sure to use a 100% acrylic product, not latex paint. (Don't be fooled by the term "acrylic latex"...you want the stuff sans the latex....)

(Please note I moved this question to a separate thread of its own)

I've done a few sets in piano black lacquer. It's labor intensive, but looks good when you're done. All were done prior to me getting a gun from borg rattle cans.
