Is it worth putting my 8" Steel City variable speed grinder on a pedestal? I currently have it mounted with the Wolverine system to 3/4" ply. There are a couple of stands currently on sale for around $40. If I go this route I would make the stand mobile. My original plan was to put the grinder set up on a folding work table but a mobile stand would be nice. Are these pedestals/stand stable and worth the cost?

I haven't gotten to it yet, but I plan to put mine on a home built 12x12" pedestal cabinet, with a door and shelves. This way I can keep grinding wheels, buffing supplies, etc., in the pedestal rather than wasting the footprint on a steel post.

Just a thought,

I purchased the HF pedestal for my grinders, I made a larger plate for the top and bottom so I could rotate it and placed the grinder back to back. Luckily the pedestal-to-vase fit was loose enough to do this. For $18 it wasn't a half bad idea.
