I am looking at getting a Laser that will cut 20mm Acrylic (the largest job at the moment) as well as good Engraving on 1.5mm Acrylic. I have been advised by one manufacturer that the 73mm Focal lens is best and that the 100w power is enough. I realise that more power would allow me to cut faster but some manufacturers say that greater than 80w power is unstable (what do they mean by the stability of a Laser?). Has anyone had any experience with the Chinese Lasers 100w and over? Has anyone heard any reports on the 100w+ Chinese Lasers? Has anybody cut Bakerlite with a Laser?

:confused::confused:

Warren,

What I believe they are saying is when you have high powered lasers that are on continuously that the power will fluctuate. This is caused by heat what you will see is inconsistent cuts some will cut all the way through some won't. The key to keeping high powered laser tubes consistent is good and proper cooling for the glass tubes as well as very consistent electrical power and power supplies.

Mike,
Thanks very much for that.
Have you or anyone else had any experience with 120w-150w Chinese Lasers?
