My Bandsaw is here - a Grizzly 513X2. I am all smiles. Thank you for all of your advice, especially all the positive words from 513 series owners.

I sent an e-mail to customer service at 10:45 PM last night with an assembly question and received the reply at 7:11 AM. The question was answered in a way I could understand and I promised to sing their praises at Sawmill Creek.

I am putting it together slowly and patiently as I have never owned a bandsaw before. I want to understand it as much as I can as I assemble it. I have the fence and the plug still to go.

Here are my preliminary photos so you will believe it happened.

Shouldn't that be 1,026 gloats? (513X2 = 1026) :D:D

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on one of these and a Jet lathe as soon as my tax refund comes through... Keep us posted on how she works for you.

Congrats!

Brian,

Congratulations. I have the 14" Grizzly and it looks like they have made changes with their larger. The Dust collection location looks like it would work a lot better.

Chris, I ordered 4 blades (for the price of 3 of course) from Suffolk:

1/4" x 8 tpi.
3/8" x 4tpi.
1/2" x 3tpi.
3/4" x 2-3 tpi.

And of course I'll try out the 1/2" that came with the saw.

And Troy, you're absolutely right on the math. What was I thinking?

I have the same saw but the 0513X. The stock blade is a little too fine pitch for cutting wood. I'm using the same blades you ordered. Wait till then to assess the saws performance. I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice. Congrats on the new saw!

Seriously looking at the Grizzly. Can't go wrong for the price.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!

Let me guess...? You made your first cut? It sure is nice having a good bandsaw in your shop(in my case, 2). You are going to love it each time you turn it on.

Turned it on the first time. Made the first cut. So quiet. So smooth.

Sorry, everybody. I though the door was shut.

I think I just had a toolgasm.
