I recently received a craftsman 10" Electronic RAS. The kind with the digital display. It seems to work fine, but I am curious of the HP rating. It is not on the motor info plate or on the saw. I have the manual and googled to no avail.

The model is 113.190600,

Anyone know?

Is it a 120V motor? Does it show how many amps it draws? If so, multiply the volts and amps to get watts. Divide by 746 to get input HP, and then multiply that by 0.6-0.8 to get a rough idea of usable HP.

Excellent! Little lower than hoped but now I know.

120 X 12 = 1440 / 746 = 1.93 * .8 = 1.5 Usable HP

My recollection is that they are 12a, which comes out to about 1.2hp. Well, knowing what crap Craftsman sells (I just sold an almost new $130 grinder for $25 because the run out was so severe it was almost useless, so maybe I am a bit bitter at the moment) they probably used the junkiest motor available, so figure 1hp.

There is a general relationship between price and efficiency.

I feel your pain, but this saw is pretty old and still works pretty well. Otherwise I'd track down one of the many old dewalt RAS's. However, Im not a big RAS user. Not yet anyway.

Any I did use 12amp in my calculation.
