Thinking about getting one of these. I know it's not a common machine, but does anyone here happen to own one and if so how does it perform?

Thanks
Perry

Just a bump to give it another cycle.

I have one, but don't know if you want what could be perceived as a biased opinion.

Shiraz, I think your comments as an actual user of the machine would be very useful...we all understand that you do have skin in the game, but you're also an outstanding woodworker who just happens to do the kind of work that takes advantage of this unique sander type. There are not many folks here that would. Have at it from the perspective of a craftsman... ;)

Yes Shiraz, please chime in, I was hoping you would. At a show last month a fellow artist recommended the General version of this sander. My search lead me to the Grizzly model. I ordered one of the replacement soft sponge rollers and received it yesterday. Sure looks good for contour sanding.

My main concern is if it tracks well under pressure and do you need to use J-Flex backed sandpaper for best performance.

Shiraz, would you have time to take a phone call, I actually have an idea for this sander that I would rather not discuss online?
