When magazines compare the various joinery methods, I imagine they compare an appropriately sized M&T to several dowels to ... how many biscuits? Do they typically use a single (like #20) biscuit in their tests?

Have any of these tests made it online to an article I can read? Or do I have to track down a magazine at the library?

Here are a few articles I have collected:

1. fww mar/apr 2001 "Testing Joints to the Breaking Point"
2. fww #21 "The Dowel Joint. Why round tenons fall out of round holes, and the elastomer compromise"
3. Wood Magazine Nov 2006 "Wood Joint Torture test"

That article in FWW 21 "The Dowel Joint" is very good.
