My basement shop is 26 x 26' with a 3 x 6' chimney base in the middle of it. The east side has a walkout door that opens onto my garden and a hockey rink sized pond.
To simplify things ALL Cases, Shelves, Cabinets, Tills, Drawers, Etc... are from the Transfer Station and rebuilt/refinished to fit in my shop.
I added compressed air piping to the shop last year.
Starting with the most important piece, the Bench. Mine is made from recycled materials I found in the dump. It is 3 x 6' with a Record knock-off vise and a Homemade leg vise on the other. The drawers are from an old oak desk.
I have surrounded it with hand tools which I'm trying to learn to reach for first.

Here is a close up of the overhead. The magnetic strips work well.

Before you get alarmed about Chisels overhead, I built a protective cover for them so they can't get knocked off. I also have a De-magnetizer that I use on them when I sharpen them.

Behind the bench ( West Wall) is where I store most of my Hand Tools.

On the far end is a cabinet that I store some tailed tools, SS glass, TS blades, and Hand Tools on the door and above.

To the right is my Plane Till, A tool storage cabinet/assembly table and a cabinet that I mounted 3 of my 5 grinders on. I HATE to change wheels.

This is my Drill Center. The cart was the last piece I found in the dump and with drawers on the opposite side also, it holds most everything drill related.
The large drawers next to it has the rest of it.

In the winter I brew beer.
