Hello all. I have a question about my bandsaw.
When it is cutting the blade veers off to the right. I find I have to feed the stock at an angle to get a straight cut. I'm sure I've read the reason somewhere but can't find it.
I'd appreciate any comment on the subject.
Thanks. Denis

Blade drift. Generally speaking all saws have it to some extent.
If you are resawing and are getting an unacceptable amount you need to do a tune up of the saw. Guides, tracking and tension to start. Drift will change as the blade wears also.
A tuned saw should only have a few degrees drift and you compensate for it with a scribed line and a finger fence (single point) fed by hand or a fence adjusted for the drift.

You can read how to tune the saw but the jist of it is draw a stright line on a piece of wood. cut 1/2 way through it till it is going stright without a fence then adjust your fence to the angle the wood is now at.

I found that I could not correct it until I got new tires -- urethane tires.
