So I picked up a draw knife the other day. When I got it I couldn't read anything on it, so I used a wire wheel and scotch bright to clean it up a bit so I could see if anything was written on it.

Here is what I know, it's a #10; I can see "insted edge tool works, conn, USA." It also says "USA" in the middle. I did a search and found out it looks to be a Winsted Edge draw knife. Looks like they were in Winsted, Conn. As far as I can tell they close in 1921. I'll try and post a pic later, but it has black handles with metal caps, it's not the adjustable handle type.

I don't see any other marketings, I would love to know more about the tool. Any of you experts here have any information. I picked it up for $20 and shipping, which seems like a decent deal for a draw knife this size.

I am at work right now on lunch.
When I get home tonight, I will post a link to information on T.H. Witherby.
That is one name associated with Winsted Edge Tool Works.

I saw that in google search, but I didn't see any marks indicating T.H. Witherby.

I was doing some writing in another thread last night and ran past my bed time.

So here is one about Witherby and the Winsted Tool Works connection. I think I may have another, if so, it will be posted.
