Well after three weeks of toiling over and chasing different vacuum leaks this Vacuum Frame Press is operational and I must say I am very proud of how it has turned out not only its ability to function as a press but its able to hold vacuum in fact the pump only came on twice in one hour. So here's a link to a few pictures.http://picasaweb.google.com/vogeldp/VacuumFramePress

Megga sweet. That's my next project - I'm getting tired of the bag.... I see a few of Joe's parts on the compressor. I never thought of mounting the vac stuff right on the comp.
What is the membrane material? What did you use for the gasket?
Oh, yea.... one more thing - Make some sawdust and scatter it around, will ya???? You're making the rest of us look bad.

30 mil polyurethane. The seal was purchased from Auto Zone Metros Mouldings 3/16" x 1-1/4" Camper Top closed cell foam rubber seal, this seal is very durable and has good memory. Thanks.

Nice looking. I wish I had space in my shop for something like that.
