Second Segmented Goblet

Well here is the second segmented goblet. This one is for my son's wedding in May. My Daughter got the first, she was maried last October. I tried something a little fancier this time( more peices/ 29). It sure was fun keeping all those little strips close to the same size:eek:. It turned out better than I expected so the pressure is off making one in time for the wedding. 8" tall, 3" dia. Walnut, Maple, Bloodwood, the black stuff I can't remember the name but it's impregnated with dye and hardeners. Finish is BLO and 4 coats shelac.

That's a wonderful gift for you son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law.

One question: Are they going to drink anything stronger than water out of the goblet? I'd be afraid the alcohol in the wine would dissolve the shellac. Depending on the vintage, that might be a good thing.
