I bought this kit with some Christmas money, and just had the chance to put it together last week. In all, I'm satisfied with the results, but it was not much fun to do, at least to me. I think next time I'll just buy a finished saw. I like making tools and all (especially planes), but I like using them better. Hats off to Joel and the guys at Gramercy, the kit instructions were perfect, and the handle shape really comfortable and attractive. Although I didnt follow the instruction of drilling out the waste first, I used a fine saw and chisels only, since I didnt have a brad point bit that size, and using a twist drill is not accurate enough, it will wander. Now all I have to do is start cutting some fine dovetails.
