Soft-start router retrofit?

Is there any way to retrofit a couple of PC690 routers with soft start?

If not, is there a box that I can plug them into that will make it happen (sort of like the aftermarket variable speed boxes with the rheostat knobs -- only something that will bring the router up to speed automatically)?

No retrofit and I've never seen anything external.

I would think that a rheostat would be the only way to go, and it really isn't a soft start. That only occurs with the electronics of how the router is made, so you cannot add it on later.
