Hello everyone,

I've been looking for exterior products to use for signs and was wondering what people's experience with extira is? Does it hold up to weather well? Does it finish ok?

Thanks,
Mike

I've done several things in Extira. With the right primer, it does paint well and looks good. I've had serious problems with bowing. I used it for several large signs I painted and put vinyl on. When the sun comes up every morning in the summer, and the signs have overnight dew on them, and then get baked with the sun, it seems to buckle them way more than I'd like to see.

I suspect if it was thick enough and supported enough, it wouldn't be a problem.

It's easy to work with for the most part. A little fragile around edges, but not too bad.

Thanks Scott,

How large of a sign did you see this on?

4' x 8'. I have spoken to several people who route it out and make signs with it and I've mentioned the warping to them and every one has indicated they've had the same issues. Not sure what sizes they experienced it on, but they all seemed to know exactly what I was talking about.
