Working with Holly...Any Tips or Pointers?

I'm planning to make some knife scales from holly. Any special tips, pointers, cautions, etc.? Thanks!

As long as you are not making anything big out of it, you should be fine. Works a lot like pine but a bit "harder". Very difficult to get larger boards that are not twisted, cracked and/or full of knots. IMMHO, one of the most outrageously overpriced woods on the market.

Keep your tool beds cleaned as well as your hands. Most Holly that I have seen is almost white in color.
