Does anyone know where I can get materials for inlays? Im looking for sheets of 1/8" thick Mother Of Pearl, or Ivory or something of that nature. I want to be able to cut patterns out of the sheets and have them inlayed into some wood.

I doubt if you will find sheets - www.inlay.com (http://www.inlay.com)
Try cow horns
P.S. Watch out for Ivory - its illegal contraban, isn't it?

You can find sheets of laminated shell material, called Abalam, but I seriously doubt you're going to find anything that thick. Most are .030, .040, .050, .060" thick.

Fossil walrus, hippopotamus and warthog ivory are legal.

Perhaps legal, but not ethical, IMHO. Use of any ivory fuels the demand for ivories of all kinds, legal or otherwise.

I respect your position, but I really don't see the ethical issue here. Fossil ivory is from animals who died long ago of natural causes. Hippos herds are culled anyway because they're extremely dangerous and kill more people than alligators and snakes combined. People kill warthogs anyway for food. Personally, I see nothing wrong with using ivory from those sources as the ivory is a by-product and not the reason the animals are killed. It makes beautful inlay, especially for musical instruments. To each his own.
