To Tony Severenuk (and other IT guys)

I've been learning a lot from your posts and thought I'd ask a geeky question....
Is it advisable to allocate more RAM to run Corel ( X3) to increase speed/prevent hangups and crashes? If so, how is it best accomplished with winXP?

Thanks!

Until one of the experts arrives on the scene you can go to "tools' options, workspace, memory" and change the setting there.

It's probably ok at the default setting. Aside from this I think the best way to fix a memory issue is to add more to the pc.

I've tried upping the memory to 4g but it seems like there should be a way to optimize the system and reduce hangs and crashing when multiple programs or files are in use. It seems I have to close out and reopen Corel to maintain functionality more than any other program I use. I'll try your suggestion!

Take a hard look at your virus and firewall programs. They can cause similar problems.
